students Luke and Zach Pekol earned the Outstanding Student Poster Award at Mathematical Association of America MathFest for research examining how home-court advantage affects NCAA men’s volleyball performance.

Their project developed a modified Colley ranking model that accounts for game location, providing a more data-informed way to evaluate and predict team performance.
