Last week, I had the privilege of joining the Executive Leadership Council’s (ELC) Annual Gala — a powerful celebration of Black excellence and leadership in corporate America. Nights like these remind me of how far we’ve come and the impact we continue to make. Honored to be part of a community committed to opening doors and shaping the future.

I wasn’t sure how much value I could bring to a more technical audience at an SRM/RGM conference—but I said “yes” anyway. And I’m so glad I did.

Huge thanks to Olabintan, MBA and Michael Kantor for the invite to join the . Now that I’m on the other side of the event, I completely understand why that “yes” was the right move.

This incredible panel of women leaders dropped real insights—on leadership, resilience, lessons learned, and even some joy. I could feel the energy in the room shift as we shared stories about agility, saying yes to unexpected opportunities, and leading with purpose to inspire the next generation.

Grateful to have shared the stage with the brilliant Saloni Patil, Lydia Smith, MBA, and Shandale Eaglin—you all brought such heart and wisdom.

Also, a big shoutout to Steve Langlois, Benjamin Peart, and Matt Campbell—it was great seeing you at the conference!

This week has been so heavy for me and so many others who understand the severity of what is happening in America.

Tonight I fought back my tears to protect my baby girl’s peace. She’s 6. I tucked her in and told her she deserved to be happy, to be safe, to be a wife one day, a Mom and a successful business woman (she’s very clear about her goals). I pray that she is able to achieve all of her hopes and dreams despite how dreadful the days ahead may feel. #ʙʟᴀᴄᴋɢɪʀʟᴍᴀɢɪᴄ
