Spring is in full swing and so is the iron here at NIW. The Norse crew has been keeping busy improving college campus around the valley. You might have seen us around Bldg 19 at Lane Community College, the zebra fish labs at University of Oregon, or at Graf Hall and Fairbanks Hall at Oregon State University.

The Norse crew is hard at it, wrapping up a busy fall and sprinting into the winter season with some awesome projects. This sample of recently completed work includes a bike shelter in Eugene, a seismic upgrade at LCC, and roof screens at Lincoln and Hoover elementary schools in Corvallis. More to come soon!

The Norse crew wrapped up our biggest endeavour of the year recently and we could not be more proud of the results. As if stainless handrail wasn't hard enough, add in the geometry and curved landings presented by this design and you've got a bear of a stair. The back story on this project is a long one, but in short this beautiful stair package at Kellogg Middle School was completed after months of hard work by the Norse team and our amazing partners. From 3d scanned as builts to install, this was a very challenging project, but it was worth it to leave behind something that generations of kiddos will be able to use for many years to come.

The Norse crew would like to wish everyone a happy and relaxing labor day weekend. Our team is very excited to take a breather after weeks of shooting around the valley to wrap up many of our school projects. Everything from roof screens, handrail, and seismic struts needed to be wrapped up in time for the return of students. We'll be rested and ready for much more, looking forward to many exciting projects this fall.

Summer is quickly coming to a close and so are all of the school projects around the valley, making way for the return of staff and students. The Norse crew has been wrapping up a lot of school work to get these beautiful new spaces ready. We'll have several posts highlighting these projects, starting with precast tread installs at Lincoln Elementary in Corvallis and stainless bench brackets at the Tykeson Hall Lawn at the University of Oregon. While everyone else is shopping for pencils and backpacks, our team will be all over the valley getting schools ready for action!

The crew recently completed a structural buildout at the Benton County Library Expansion in Corvallis, OR. They even managed to catch up on the last few books from the Twilight series in the process. Wildish Group of Companies is leading a great project and has been a pleasure to work with. A big thanks goes to Joshua White and Pezsnecker Brothers for teaming up with us on the build.

Reaching the highest highs and the tightest tights, the Norse crew just finished up the seismic upgrade at Lake Oswego High School with Turner Construction Company and SteelFab, Inc. Not the easiest places to access but NIW made it happen!

Let's play find the ironworker! Trust me, he is in there. The Norse crew is making it a field filled summer with installs going from Eugene to Portland and all in between. This photo comes from a seismic upgrade at Lake Oswego High School working with the fine folks at SteelFab, Inc and Turner Construction Company. More photos of this and all the other projects we have been knocking out coming up soon. Stay tuned!

After a nice run of field work, the Norse Crew returned to base to knock out some fab projects. An loft stair, fridge surround, wire mesh menu board, and one super secret project (more on this soon) have been keeping the team bustling. Now the weldments are off to coatings and the crew is headed back to the field. Install photos and details on the super secret project coming up next, stay tuned!

The Norse Crew was back in school again, this time at Oregon State University working on a build out for the RAIL facilities. Consider this our double major in ironwork, moving from architectural canopies last week to structural steel, joist, and deck without skipping a beat. Many thanks to Desgrosellier Development for bringing us on.

The Norse Crew is getting an education and going collegiate. We wrapped up an interior canopy fab and install at the University of Oregon's Hamilton Walton building last week (could you tell from the green?). Many thanks to and for bringing us out there. Next up is a structural project at Oregon State University, being completed as we speak. I feel smarter already!
