Strengthen your skills and stand out when you apply for International Dentist Education Programs (IDEP) in the United States!

Join Continuing Dental Education - UT Health San Antonio for our "Bench Prep/Hand Skills Course for Internationally Trained Dentists" and gain the hands-on experience and confidence needed to succeed in the IDEP application process. This course blends didactic instruction with simulation-based training to develop the psychomotor and technical skills required by U.S. dental standards.

🗓️ Date: June 26 – 29, 2026
⏰ Time: 8:00am – 5:00pm daily (lunch provided)
📍 Location: UT San Antonio School of Dentistry (In-person)
✅ Earn 32 CDE credit hours

Curriculum includes:
- Includes structured practice time under the guidance of faculty in a simulation lab
- An extensive review of the fixed and operative psychomotor skills
- Wax drip exercise
- Learn the challenges of the bench test

On May 22, the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry honored the Doctor of Dental Surgery Class of 2026 at the annual Senior Awards Ceremony, recognizing outstanding achievements in clinical care, research, leadership and service.

Over 120 awards were presented to top honors recipients, distinguished students, faculty and valedictorians. 🏆

Hamsini “Hamsi” Nathan, DDS, a 2026 graduate of the School of Dentistry, was one of five recipients of the 2025 Presidential Ambassador Scholarship, which includes a $5,000 stipend and valuable leadership and networking opportunities.

Post-graduation, Hamsi is pursuing a residency in oral surgery and is focused on giving back to the community and the institution that supported her journey, with plans to combine clinical practice, teaching, and research.

Her story is a reminder of the lasting impact donor support can have, not just on one student, but on the countless patients and communities they go on to serve. 🦷🤍

Now suiting up as a defenseman for Roadrunner Ice Hockey under the UTSA Athletics umbrella, he’s balancing the demands of residency with the sport that shaped him, proving what expanded opportunities for health professional students can truly look like.

One week later, and we are still feeling so much pride for our 2026 Dental Hygiene and Doctor of Dental Surgery graduates from the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. 🎓

These graduates put in the work and are ready to lead the future of oral healthcare through patient care, innovation and research, advancing oral health and making lives, and smiles, better in the communities they serve.
