This year’s Triton Giving Day inspired extraordinary support, raising a record $1.1 million! 🔱

Gifts were made to 232 different funds, helping expand student opportunities, advance research, transform global health, strengthen athletics and more. 1,175 alumni donors contributed this year, raising $534,347.

A new course launched by the UCSD Department of Economics in the School of Social Sciences gives students the chance to connect with accomplished alumni and other professionals directly in the classroom. 🤝

Titled “10x10: Career Lessons,” the class features 10 lectures by economics alumni and other professionals who share 10 lessons from their careers, offering students practical advice on how to succeed beyond what is typically taught in school.

The course first launched in winter quarter 2025 with a stellar lineup of guest speakers whose careers spanned investment banking, venture capital, entrepreneurship, real estate and pharmaceuticals. Many of the presenters were alumni of the UC San Diego School of Social Sciences, returning to campus to share lessons learned over decades in the working world.

For students, the course offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from alumni and industry leaders who are willing to be candid about the choices, mistakes, pivots and relationships that shaped their careers.

Less than a year after earning his degree in communications from UC San Diego in 2025, Hayden Gray became the first Triton to ever play in the NBA. Gray made his debut for the Utah Jazz last month in Los Angeles against the Lakers. He recently joined the Tritoncast podcast from LionTree Arena to talk about what it was like to play against future Hall of Famer LeBron James; spending the past winter playing professionally for the Maine Celtics in the NBA’s developmental G-League; favorite memories from a championship season in La Jolla and more. 🏀

Looking back at our recent Golden Key Ceremony with the Alumni Board of Directors. 🔑✨

The Golden Key Ceremony honored and celebrated past board leaders whose vision, service, and philanthropy helped make the Triton Alumni and Welcome Center a reality. We applauded our alumni volunteers whose leadership has strengthened the community across generations.

Board members traveled both across the country and internationally to return to campus and be part of this special acknowledgement. Outgoing Alumni Board President Melody Gonzales ’02 was also recognized and thanked for her service. Following the ceremony, those in attendance were invited to take a hard hat tour of the center.

🗓️ Mark your calendar, November 5-8, 2026, for the grand opening of our Triton Alumni and Welcome Center. More than a decade in the making, this long-awaited space will bring Tritons of every generation together.

Fifty years later, together again. đź”± Members of the Golden Triton Society are invited back to campus during commencement weekend for the annual Golden Triton Celebration and Procession!

This year, we are proud to honor the class of 1976 and officially induct them into this distinguished group. The Golden Triton Society recognizes alumni who are celebrating 50 or more years since graduation and whose enduring connection has helped shape UC San Diego’s legacy.

Festivities begin on Friday, June 12, as Golden Tritons gather to enjoy a dinner buffet, warm conversation and Triton pride. As part of the celebration, the class of 1976 will receive their commemorative 50-year pin and medallion.

On Saturday, June 13, all members of the Golden Triton Society are invited to participate in the Golden Triton Procession as part of UC San Diego’s all-campus commencement. Regalia will be provided for this special ceremony as we lead the procession of graduates and welcome the class of 2026 into the Triton alumni family.

Hey alumni, do you recognize these Tritons in the Stuart Collection's "READ/WRITE/THINK/DREAM"? 🔱📚

In honor of the art installation's 25th anniversary, we are searching for these 12 alumni featured at the entrance to UC San Diego Library. Drop a comment if you have any intel. 🔎

Inspired by Florence’s historic bronze doors, artist John Baldessari transformed Geisel Library's entrance into a vibrant celebration of curiosity, creativity, and student life. Across eight towering glass panels, photographic images of UC San Diego students standing atop rows of books become part of the library’s architecture, while colorful primary-colored glass shifts and overlaps as the doors open and close. Above the entrance, the words READ, WRITE, THINK, and DREAM reflect Baldessari’s message to look beyond the everyday and imagine new possibilities.

Inside the lobby, murals of seated students, palm trees, beaches, oversized pens, and pencils capture the spirit of Southern California and the culture of learning. By blending photography, words, color, and architecture, Baldessari created an immersive installation that invites viewers to form new connections, ask questions, and see the familiar in unexpected ways.

Ramsdell will share his thoughts on advancing the American scientific enterprise and fostering trust in biomedical research and innovation. The event will also be livestreamed.
