It is important now more than ever for us to stand together and for each of us to use our own voice both against toxic ideas and racism and in support of people of color, especially members of the Black community. As members of the Chemistry Graduate Student Council and Chemistry GSA, we openly and irrevocably condemn the recent murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, David McAtee, among countless others, as a result of excessive force and police brutality, as well as the incessant discrimination experienced by the Black community as a whole. We acknowledge the need to act against the historical institutional racism which has been deeply rooted in and among our society, and we are committed to advocating for the members of underrepresented minorities. In this time, the CGSC and ChemGSA representatives extend their support to members of the Black community. We see you, we stand with you, and we will fight for you. Hi Chemistry and Biochemistry Graduate Students and TAs,

With the support and input of Student Affairs, we are pleased to be rolling out Microsoft Teams both for our Chemistry Grads as well as our TAs. This tool is intended to serve as a bridge between you and your fellow graduate students/TAs to support and communicate with each other during this unprecedented situation. You will be added to Teams via your SSO sign in credentials so please sign in using that option. The software can be used in a browser or downloaded for your desktop or mobile devices.

We have populated several channels anticipating your needs so please make sure you can see any channel that might be pertinent to you. You can find a list of channels posted in the general channel. For Private conversations there is also an instant chat function that can be used between two or more people.

Here is a brief video demonstrating the features of Teams. Weโ€™ve prepared some guidelines for the intended use of this communication platform which you can find in a tab in the general channel. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them in the Teams Help and Suggestions channel. We hope this resource helps you feel more supported and connected while we all figure out how to do our work from home.

Stay safe and healthy everyone!

Ember Tota | Chair
