Escondido Police Department is seeking Volunteers! We are recruiting for two areas within our Investigations Division; Criminal Intelligence Unit and the Forensic Services Unit. Please see the brief description of job duties for each Unit.
Volunteer position in Criminal Intelligence Unit:
Job duties: Assist detectives with investigations, specifically assisting with digital retrieval and extraction from cell phones and video-surveillance systems.
Volunteer position in Forensic Services Unit:
Job duties: administrative duties (filing, scanning, sorting), latent print development training, assist Forensic Services personnel with crime scene processing (vehicle processing, major crime scenes, subject processing, attending autopsies).
Some basic requirements for either position:
1. At least 18 years old
2. 1 year time commitment which can be re-evaluated for continuation as a volunteer.
3. Commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week, in 4 hour increments (excluding callouts)
4. On-call to assist in with investigations
5. Complete a thorough background

In the Areas of Interest portion check the police box, then send the application to the Forensic Services Supervisor Bryanna Toussaint [email protected] by 5 pm on February 7th, 2020. Specify in your email if you are interested in volunteering in the Criminal Intelligence Unit, Forensic Services Unit or both. Interviews will be held late February 2020. You will be contacted with further information closer to the interview date.
