Bison Baja

Bison Baja The official Harding University SAE Baja collegiate design team. Baja SAE is an intercollegiate engineering design competition for engineering students.

Bison Baja is a team of college students who have joined together to design and build a miniature Baja car to compete in the SAE collegiate design series competitions. The object of the competition is to simulate real-world engineering design projects and their related challenges. Each team is competing to have its design accepted for manufacture by a fictitious firm. The students must function as

a team to design, build, test, promote and compete with a vehicle within the limits of the rules. They must also generate financial support for their project and manage their educational priorities. The competition is made up two main event categories static events and dynamic events. The static events are the design report, the design evaluation, the cost report and presentation. The dynamic events are an acceleration test, sled pull, mud bog, maneuverability course, suspension and traction track, and an endurance test. Each car is designed to perform as well as possible through all events.

We had a nice cookout the other night with the team! Our new team captain for the next year was chosen as well, so congrats to Landon Martin.

Our results for competition also came in earlier this week, placing us as #29 out of 100 different teams.

Our competition went fantastic and we are finally back home to Harding. We had a great team, great support from families and other teams, and some amazing photos and videos taken throughout the events.
We just want to thank everyone for coming out and a big shout out to our sponsors and everyone that contributed to us getting to and through these last few days! Our composite score isn't out yet, but we did come in at around 37 for the 4 hour endurance event even after some time consuming problems.

If anyone has any extra pictures or videos from the event, feel free to post them on our page or tag us in your own posts! We are now through the sled pull and maneuverability events and just have suspension to go.
