Association for Women in Communications - Seattle Professional Chapter AWC was founded in 1909 as Theta Sigma Phi at the University of Washington in Seattle.

Now the mission of the Seattle professional chapter is to continue the legacy of women helping women build and sustain their communications careers. The Association for Women in Communications is a professional organization that champions the advancement of women across all communications disciplines by recognizing excellence, promoting leadership and positioning its members at the forefront of the evolving communications era.
