The Brothers of Delta Chi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. are proud to announce our Annual Talent Hunt Program, a nationally mandated and internationally recognized initiative designed to identify, uplift, and support gifted youth across our communities.
About the Omega Psi Phi Talent Hunt
The Talent Hunt Program was originally conceived in 1945 by Brother J. Alston Atkins of Winston-Salem, NC, and Brother Dewey Duckett of Rock Hill, SC. The first District Talent Hunt was held on April 19, 1946, in Charlotte, NC. The program was born out of a clear need—to address the unequal opportunities historically afforded to many young people to develop and fully express their talents.
Due to overwhelming community support and the scholarship assistance provided to winners, the program was adopted as one of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s mandated national programs. In 1953, the Talent Hunt made its international debut when district winners were showcased at the Grand Conclave in Cincinnati, Ohio.
