The mission of the Missouri State University Department of World Languages and Cultures is to provide our students with quality instruction and effective, standards-based assessment to enable them to attain foreign-language proficiency and intercultural competence. Our courses and degree programs develop practical language skills, an understanding of and appreciation for the diversity of cultures,

and the ability to analyze and interpret texts and other forms of cultural expression. In addition to enriching other academic disciplines, these skills prepare graduates of our programs for successful careers in education, business, communications and technology, government, public service and other fields in high demand in today’s increasingly multilingual and multicultural society.

Have you heard of the French tradition Diner en blanc? In short, at the last minute, the secret location is revealed to thousands of friends who have all been patiently waiting to learn where “Dîner en Blanc” will take place. Thousands of people, dressed all in white, and conducting themselves with the greatest decorum, elegance, and etiquette, all meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space. Click the link to see images across the globe!

Pi Delta Phi - French Honor Society invites you to join them as they put an MSU spin on the event where everyone is asked to wear maroon instead of white. It will take place on Tuesday, May 9th from 5pm-7pm in the PSU Food Court near Chick-fil-a.

Please RSVP at the QR below if possible. Not required so please join us!
