Studio: TESLA

Studio: TESLA Studio: TESLA is devoted to sparking interest in STEAM and design thinking in the next generation to build critical thinking capacity! Ask to learn more.

Studio:TESLA is a group at Washington University in St. Louis that works in conjunction with Engineering Student Services, Community Service Office, and Institute of School Partnership. Our goal is to strengthen and enable WashU's STEAM (STEM + the Arts) outreach programs while also sponsoring after-school clubs in various locations around the city. In Fall 2015, we will coordinate 5 different sit

es in St. Louis, primarily with local middle schools. These clubs are meant to expose the students to multiple types of engineering through engaging, hands-on projects in design thinking. College students, from every discipline, have a variety of ways to get involved. One can create curricula to be implemented, raise funds, advocate and publicize, and of course, work directly with the kids! And all participants are able to receive proper training to boost their own skills within the group and gain marketable talents.

We focus on exposing minority, under-represented, and low income students across St. Louis to STEAM (that's STEM + the Arts) initiatives.

Studio: TESLA is a completely student-run organization, so we're recruiting members to develop curriculum, visit schools, create publicity material, and take pictures--truly something for everyone!
