Dr. Travan Jasper, '91, and Dr. Travis Jasper, '91, were featured on CBS Sunday Morning for their journey from childhood poverty to leadership roles in the emergency department of a hospital in their hometown of Richmond, Virginia.

The identical twin brothers share how an experience at a hospital when they were 12 inspired them to pursue careers in medicine and care for others.

For 60 years, Marilyn von Löben Sels, '66, has helped keep her Stanford classmates connected ♥️🌲♾️

Since graduating in 1966, Marilyn has served as her class's sole correspondent, sharing updates and helping classmates stay in touch across the decades through her Class Notes column, a living history of the class.

At Stanford Reunion Homecoming 2026, her classmates celebrated her extraordinary dedication with a framed letter from Stanford President Jonathan Levin, '94, recognizing her six decades of service.

Class Notes is one of the most popular sections of STANFORD magazine, made possible by more than 120 alumni volunteers working alongside the magazine's editors and staff.

A heartfelt thank you to Marilyn for continuing to give back to the community she's helped bring together. Here's to 60 years of Cardinal spirit and counting!

“Holy cow, it’s Shelley Gao!”

A familiar face on CoHo’s wall of fame. In April 2008, Stanford first-year student Shelley Gao, ’11, earned the most votes of any candidate in the Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) Undergraduate Senate election, securing 1,124 votes. Gao was among 15 students elected to represent the undergraduate student body that year.

During Reunion Homecoming, we caught up with Gao at CoHo, where she posed beneath her caricature alongside other Stanford personalities, including Tiger Woods, ’96, and Condoleezza Rice. Thanks for coming back to the Farm! 🗳️🌲♥️
