South Hills School of Business & Technology is a career school with locations in State College and Altoona. Pennsylvania, that is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Founders Paul (1930-2013) and Maralyn Mazza created South Hills School of Business & Technology in 1970 when they saw the need for more specialized skills training in central Pennsylvania.

Since then, more than 6,000 graduates have earned their degrees and gone on to lead successful careers. Paul and Maralyn believed in “Teaching People, Changing Lives,” a timeless ideal that continues to inspire faculty, staff, and students.

South Hills School of Business & Technology announces the first event of the 2026 Music Picnic Series. On Sunday, June 7 free entertain­ment will begin at 6:00 p.m. on the north lawn with “Code: Blue”.

Code: Blue is a homegrown 8-piece roots blues/soul/R&B band whose members - Jerry Zolten, Richard Sleigh, Terri Parker, Rene Oakman, John Raiser, Chris Younken, Harry Werner, and Barb Neumuller - have long and distinguished track records of making music, each in his or her own right and in various combinations that have left an indelible mark on the regional music scene.

Code: Blue debuted in 1993 with their album Stages/Then and Now showcasing the band’s musicianship and originality. In the wake of that release Code: Blue began touring statewide, sharing stages with artists such as Queen Bee and the Blue Hornet Band, the Billy Price Band, and with national acts at prestigious festivals including Philadelphia's Penn's Landing Jambalaya Jam, Harrisburg's Riverfront Arts Festival, and the Johnstown Flood City Music Festival.

Code: Blue reunited in 2023 and since then has been performing their unique blend of R&B, soul, blues, and a touch of gospel at top-of-the-line venues, festivals, and community events.

These free, outdoor concerts are held rain or shine at South Hills’ main campus located at 480 Waupelani Drive, State College. Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. Grounds open at 4 p.m.; music starts at 6 p.m. and lasts until 7:30 p.m This year we will be featuring “Dogs on the Run” hot dog cart for dogs and snacks.. This area is for South Hills students and employees. Kaleb Barth was an Engineering Technology student who passed away in 2025.
