Hello everyone!

Our first meeting of the 2015-2016 school year was held today!

Some major things to keep in mind:

1. We are still waiting on the verdict for whether or not the school is offering $5 memberships this year so stay tuned. We will let you know ASAP.

2. Mechanical Engineering Alumni Jennifer Dandrea is coming to 'Cuse October 8th and we (ASME) are holding an event for her that evening! She is currently at Boeing and was a graduate of the class of 2005. More details to come on that as the event gets closer but add it to your calendars, we want as many people there as we can get!

The next meeting will be announced soon. We will most likely have another GBM in two weeks to try to accommodate the people who couldn't make it tonight and to decide what we need to put into the budget for next semester!!

Thanks!

I hope everyone is off to a great start this semester. This coming Monday (the 15th) will be ASME’s (American Society Of Mechanical Engineers) first general body meeting at 7pm in 101 Link Hall.

ASME is a professional society that provides academic support, scholarships, national competitions, as well as continuing educations and networking opportunities to students and professionals.

In recent years, Syracuse’s chapter has been dormant, and it’s my hope that with some fresh students and ideas we can get the society up and running to the National standard.

This meeting will focus on member recruitment and society goals. We are hoping to hear from the student body about what they want from the society, and how we can accomplish it.

Lastly, the Department covers the cost of membership for new students. You do not have to be a member, or even a Mechanical Major to come the the meeting.

I look forward to seeing you, and have a great weekend!
