Yesterday our brother Ismael “Don Capi” Pagan-Gonzalez had the opportunity to hear Vice President Kamala Harris deliver remarks to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision. We are grateful for the chance to have a brother be apart of the dialogue. As a fraternity, we acknowledge the battle for reproductive rights women are facing in this country. As men, we strive to support women and turn dialogue into action.

Today, we commemorate the life and contributions of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who not only advanced the lives and civil rights of black people in the United States, but also inspired Latinos to mobilize and address systematic inequality.

Issues such as a flawed immigration system, income inequality, lack of affordable housing, discrimination and more continue to affect minority communities in the United States. Realizing there is still work to do, we continue to be inspired by King and his life of service.

This weekend we traveled to Columbia, SC to attend Phi Iota Alpha’s semiannual Regional Leadership Training Institute (RLTI) at UNC. It was a pleasure getting together with brothers from across the southeast and partaking in the . 🦁🤝
