Small Craft Advisory Press Small Craft Advisory Press is an experimental artists' book press at Florida State University.

Named after the ever changing place where land meets sea, the Swash Zone paper studio explores the thresholds between image and substrate, meaning and material. This is a community of experimentation and discovery, working with an ancient medium in revolutionary and contemporary ways.

The Swash Zone is run through Small Craft Advisory Press, offering workshops for FSU CFA students and the local community.

No previous papermaking experience necessary! The Swash Zone welcomes all who wish to wade.

It’s the end of an era! Today we say goodbye to our press manager who is joining special collections as their arts collections curator this fall. During her time here Sarah worked on more than 10 editions. Here’s a few of the books she finished production on and others she helped design and complete! We wish her lots of luck in Richmond!
