Culture for Service. Service for Humanity Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity is an international association that has become a legacy of excellence.

The lineage of greatness began on January 9, 1914 with the three noble founders: Honorable A. Langston Taylor, Honorable Leonard
F. Morse, and Honorable Charles I. Brown on the campus of Howard University,
Washington, DC. These proud men formed a chain of esteemed scholars
striving to make a difference in society through the principles of brotherhood,
scholarship and service. The diversity of thei

r membership was the unique attraction to Sigma. With
Culture for Service and Service for Humanity as their motto, the Brotherhood was
able to advance a variety of human causes, including civil and equal rights and
service to America's communities. Inclusion, rather than exclusion, was the
ethical foundation of Sigma's membership. Decade after decade, Phi Beta
Sigma has captured within its ranks great men of America's history. The Sigma
Scroll inscribes names of achievement in the areas of education, science,
medicine, law, business, politics, fine arts, civil rights and sports. Sigmas are
men of vision, men of culture, men of service and men of leadership. Nearly 100 years later and with over 150,000 members initiated, the Brotherhood
has evolved into one of the nation's oldest African American institutions. Sigma men are the high achievers, movers and shakers of their times. Membership in Sigma has its privileges: professional development, systematic approach to organizational planning, progressive and innovative programs, leadership development, first-class social functions, an opportunity for community involvement and an international network of life-long friendships."

🇺🇸 Happy Labor Day from the Mighty Eastern Region!

Today, we honor the workers whose dedication builds our communities, supports our families, and sustains our nation. From educators and healthcare professionals to tradespeople, public servants, entrepreneurs, and workers in every industry, labor is the lifeblood of this country.

As we celebrate, we also recognize that the work of building a more just and equitable society continues. Fair wages, safe working conditions, and meaningful opportunity are essential to the well-being of American families.

As we approach the midterm elections, let us remain committed to fair and accessible elections, informed civic participation, and holding our elected officials accountable for their actions and their promises. Regardless of party, the people must remain the priority, not personal profit or political self-interest.

Our commitment to Culture For Service and Service For Humanity reminds us that progress requires participation, accountability, and a willingness to serve beyond ourselves.

To every worker, thank you for your contributions, your sacrifices, and the work you do each day. Today, the Eastern Region honors you.

💙 A Life of Leadership and Service | Triumphant Soror Janet Y. Bivins, Esq. 🤍

On behalf of the Eastern Regional Board and every Brother throughout the Mighty Eastern Region of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Hon. Bro. Nigel Coelho, 28th Eastern Regional Director, extends our deepest sorrow and heartfelt condolences on the transition of Triumphant Soror Janet Yvette Bivins, Esq.

For more than four decades, Triumphant Soror Bivins faithfully served Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, leaving an extraordinary legacy of leadership that included service as the 25th Basileus of Beta Delta Zeta Chapter, 7th Pennsylvania State Director, 16th Atlantic Regional Director, and 26th Chairman of the National Executive Board, among numerous other distinctions.

Her titles reflect a remarkable record of service. Her greater legacy lives in the Sorors she mentored, the communities she served, the lives she influenced, and the example of leadership she leaves behind.

The bond between Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is one of family. As our Sorors mourn this tremendous loss, the Brothers of the Mighty Eastern Region mourn alongside them.

We lift in prayer Triumphant Soror Bivins’ family and loved ones, the Sorors of Beta Delta Zeta Chapter, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Atlantic Region, and the entire sisterhood of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

May she rest peacefully and eternally, and may her remarkable legacy of leadership and service continue to inspire generations to come. 💙🤍

💙 Remembering Hon. Founder Charles I. Brown

On this day in 1885, Honorable Founder Charles I. Brown was born.

Today, we honor a man whose vision helped establish a Brotherhood that continues to unite generations of Sigma men through the ideals of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service.

More than a century later, his legacy lives in every Brother who serves, every chapter that strengthens its community, and every generation that accepts the responsibility of carrying Phi Beta Sigma forward.

The greatest way we can honor our Founders is not simply by remembering their names, but by continuing the work they began and ensuring that Culture For Service and Service For Humanity remains evident in all that we do.

On the anniversary of his birth, the Mighty Eastern Region proudly remembers and celebrates the enduring legacy of Hon. Founder Charles I. Brown.
