Amos Neyhart, who was a faculty member in Penn State Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, taught the nation's first class in driver education in 1933 at State College High School. In 1936, he taught the first classes for driver education teachers.

Penn State University Libraries invites submissions for the 10th annual competition for the outstanding undergraduate thesis, now endowed and named the Robert F. Guentter Jr. Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award. The University-wide competition aims to find the best research by a Penn State undergraduate student in consultation with their adviser.
