From exploring medical technology to learning financial literacy, food distribution, and park operations, High School Career Express students are continuing to discover new career possibilities.

Cambridge College: Explored health care careers through medical technology and clinical demonstrations.

Addition Financial: Learned essential financial literacy and responsible banking skills.

Second Harvest Food Bank: Discovered careers in nonprofit operations, hospitality, and community service.

Orange County Parks and Recreation: Experienced park maintenance, equipment operations, and emergency response firsthand.

OCPS Career and Technical Education Students Shine at National FFA Organization Conference in Indianapolis 🌳

From October 21 to 24, OCPS CTE students competed in the 99th National FFA Organization Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. The National FFA Organization is a dynamic youth leadership group that empowers students to discover their passions and prepare for careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture.

At the annual convention, thousands of members gather to compete in high-stakes skills challenges, earn prestigious awards, attend motivational workshops, and network with global industry leaders. Here were the results:

Orlando-Colonial Chapter:
2nd - Forestry
3rd and 4th - Highest Score, Forestry Exam
8th and 10th - Milk Quality and Products
8th - Vet Science

Edgewater High School Chapter:
Semi Finalist for Spanish Creed (Top 12 in the Nation)

Winter Park High School Chapter:
12th - FFA Quiz Invitational

Avalon Middle Chapter:

Last week, High School Career Express students explored career and educational opportunities at SLR Real Estate and Valencia College.

At SLR Real Estate, students learned about careers in real estate and the importance of financial literacy.

At Valencia College, students explored academic programs, university transfer pathways, and resources to support their future goals.

These hands-on experiences help students discover new possibilities and take meaningful steps toward their futures!
