Reynolds School of Journalism Helping students turn their passion for storytelling into careers. The Reynolds School is one of 110 fully-accredited U.S.

journalism and mass communication programs. Our faculty members include endowed chairs in business journalism, media ethics and science communication. At the undergraduate level, we prepare students for “multi-platform storytelling,” whether in the service of news, information or brand communication. Our master’s program prepares graduate students to develop new media firms, products and practices

. Our programs encourage an inclusive learning environment that supports students from all backgrounds and walks of life. We partner with the College of Engineering around digital media innovation, with the College of Business around entrepreneurship and with the School of Medicine around health communication. Our student teams in advertising and public relations have won national and regional competitions. Our Mission

Celebrating excellence in storytelling 🎉 We honored 77 students at the 2026 Savitt Awards, awarding more than $188,000 in scholarships and recognizing standout achievements across the field.

🎮 JOUR 271: Media Approaches to Esports and Gaming
A new online, asynchronous course exploring the fast-growing worlds of esports, gaming, and media.

🎬 JOUR 423: Advanced Video Reporting and Storytelling
(Mon., 2:30-5:15 p.m.)
Taught by ’s Kim Burrows and John Linn, this hands-on class focuses on high-impact visual storytelling for broadcast news and other outlets.

🗳️ JOUR 483/683: Democracy Reporting (Tues., 9-11:45 a.m.)
Taught by Jim Scripps, students will report on the midterm elections and democracy in action. This course is only offered every two years during a national election—don’t miss it!

This week, we celebrated the accomplishments of our outstanding students and faculty at the 2026 Savitt Awards Banquet. With commencement around the corner, it was great to recognize 15 Outstanding Student Award recipients, our 2025–26 scholarship recipients, and welcome 18 new inductees into Kappa Tau Alpha. Congratulations to everyone honored for their hard work and dedication.
