So funny right guys how hilarious what a funny meme
Colonization and imperial possession of the other through violent means will not stop y’all, it’s not stopping. Major cities are being bombed, lands dispossessed, advocates for peace silenced yes in history but also now. Now.
To even say major cities feels ugly to me. I say it because I hope and pray it will get your attention but bombs are falling in many, many places and have been, essentially unabated, for over a century. Now that it’s a metropolitan “major” European city, presumably full of mostly white people, folks suddenly wake up and shout “No!”
I have a careful eye for straw man arguments (google “straw man logical fallacy” if you don’t know this reference), and despite my Aries sun, I try as best I can to keep a lid on my natural tendencies toward hyperbole.
And, I do not believe I am effecting a hyperbole when I say: if you have ever said or wondered, “well I would have been different during the Nazis” but you are not radically and loudly anti-war and anti-oppression NOW, then you have your answer.
This is the same bully violence misshapen bent disgusting callous power grab that the world witnessed almost a century ago now and then pretended was gone. It never was. Ukraine, Texas, Florida, Palestine, US imperial forever wars, Famine in Afghanistan, South Sudan, Syria, Yemen, the list goes on you know it does, ALL of this never left, it got worse and we looked away in our comfort.
Additionally, we are SURROUNDED by white supremacist violence that IS and REVERES Naziism. A disabled woman in her 60’s was shot point-blank in the head in Portland, OR for NOTHING, and the cops did everything they could to blame the victims and shift the narrative in favor of the murderer. They mostly got away with it too. Like they do every time.
