The Mu Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated was chartered on December 17, 1978, at Bethel A.M.E. Soror Johnella Martin, Regional Director of the South Eastern Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated presided at the ceremony. The officers of the newly chartered chapter were: Bertha J. Murphy, Vice-President; Helen R. Martin, Recording Secretary; Rebecca Vaughn, As

sistant Secretary; Jimmie Jones, Treasurer; Ezell Matthews, Corresponding Secretary; and Santa Williams, Ivy Leaf Reporter. The members were Melissa Demby, Linda Kay Jones, Louise Ross, Willie Mary Thompson, Thelma Winston, Gwendolyn Yates, Dorothy Daniel, and Albrida Clay.
