๐Ÿ‘‘ WEโ€™VE WORN THE PINK. NOW LETโ€™S DO THE WORK.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about more than ribbons.

Ask yourself:

๐Ÿฉท Do I know my family history?

๐Ÿฉท Have I discussed my breast cancer risk with my healthcare provider?

๐Ÿฉท Am I up to date with the screening recommended for me?

๐Ÿฉท Would I recognize an unusual breast change?

๐Ÿฉท Have I encouraged another woman to take care of herself?

Two days closer to our Royal Tea of Hope.

๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’š A MOMENT IN VOTING RIGHTS HISTORY ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’—

This week gave us two important reminders of the long journey toward full participation in our democracy.

On October 6, we remembered the birthday of Fannie Lou Hamer, born in 1917 โ€” a Mississippi sharecropper who became one of the most powerful grassroots voices for voting rights in America. She helped organize voter-registration efforts, challenged exclusion, and reminded the nation that ordinary citizens can create extraordinary change.

On October 7, we also remember the spirit of Freedom Day in Selma and the determined efforts of Black citizens who organized, stood in line, faced intimidation, and continued demanding access to the ballot. Selma became one of the defining centers of the voting-rights movement and helped bring national attention to barriers that prevented Black citizens from registering and voting.

Their stories remind us that the right to vote was not simply handed down.

It was organized for.
It was marched for.
It was sacrificed for.
And it must never be taken for granted.

As we prepare for the November 3 election, may we honor that history by doing our part today:

โœ… Check your registration
โœ… Know your voting plan
โœ… Encourage someone else to get vote ready
โœ… Show up and participate

๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’š Waycross and Douglas, can we fill the room with duffle bags?

We are getting closer to our final collection date, and Chi Gamma Omega Chapter is asking our community to help us make a strong final push for children and teens in foster care.

Hereโ€™s the challenge:

Buy one new duffle bag.
Drop it off.
Tag a friend, church, business, organization, or family member to do the same.

Every donation helps us place a useful, personal item into the hands of a young person who deserves dignity, care, and support.

๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’š Your health is a SERIOUS MATTER! Make time for YOU! ๐ŸŽ€

Early detection can save lives! Mammograms can help find breast cancer before symptoms appear. Encourage the women you love to make their breast health a priorityโ€”and do the same for yourself.

The St. Josephโ€™s/Candler Mobile Mammography Unit is coming to Waycross!

๐Ÿฉท EARLY DETECTION CAN CHANGE THE STORY.

When breast cancer is found earlier, treatment options and outcomes can be very different than when disease is discovered after it has spread.

Thatโ€™s why screening and timely follow-up matter.

Donโ€™t ignore the reminder.

Donโ€™t keep postponing the appointment.

And donโ€™t ignore an unusual change simply because youโ€™re afraid of what you might hear.

Knowledge gives you the opportunity to ACT.

๐Ÿ‘‘ Courage isnโ€™t the absence of fear. Sometimes courage is making the appointment anyway.

Join us as we stand with survivors, remember those whose lives have been forever changed by abuse, and reaffirm our commitment to building communities rooted in love, respect, and hope. Domestic Violence Awareness Month reminds us to pause, reflect, and take action, but creating safe, healthy relationships is a commitment we make every day.

Nearly 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men in the United States have experienced physical violence, sexual violence, or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime. Behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a story deserving of compassion, dignity, and support.

As Champions, we INSPIRE hope through education, grace, and action. Whether itโ€™s believing a survivor, offering encouragement, or helping connect someone with resources, every act of kindness has the power to change a life.

Together, we believe. Together, we support. Together, we empower. Together, we inspire hope.

Love speaks. Grace restores. Action changes lives. ๐Ÿ’œ
