Wellesley College Team IMPACT Fifteen Wellesley College students, representing five teams, recently helped to bring Team IMPACT to Wellesley.

Wellesley College's branch of Team IMPACT: a non-profit organization based in Boston, MA that enhances the lives of children facing life-threatening diseases by drafting them onto local college athletic teams. Last spring, Wellesley Team IMPACT was selected for the Katharine Timberman Wright Award for community service, which recognizes the creative responses of Wellesley College students to perce

ived social needs both on and off campus. Wellesley joins several dozen other colleges and universities across the northeast who are participating in Team IMPACT, including Boston College, Harvard University, Tufts University, Brown University, Babson College, Boston University, College of the Holy Cross, Curry College, and Northeastern University. Wellesley College Athletics has announced the signing of seven-year old Maeve Flack to the Blue Softball team from Team IMPACT. Maeve hails from nearby Needham, Massachusetts, and was officially signed to the team at halftime of Wellesley's basketball game on Saturday. Her favorite number is seven, which she will wear on the Blue. Maeve loves dancing and bike riding and also enjoys swimming, skiing, helping her sisters' softball teams.

This Saturday, February 22nd, Wellesley College Athletics is drafting 7-year-old Maeve from Boston Children's Hospital onto the Wellesley College Softball team during halftime at Basketball's Senior Day. The event will begin at 2pm! Come hungry, there will be lots of cake!
