This week, we celebrated a new chapter in Mercer County Community College’s history — the arrival of Maverick the Mustang, our new college mascot. 💚💛

From West Windsor to Trenton, our community came together to celebrate with energy, spirit, and Mustang pride. Thank you to everyone who made Maverick’s arrival such a memorable moment!

Be sure to keep an eye out for Maverick when you're on our campuses! 🐎🔥

On Thursday morning, we cut the ribbon on our new, state-of-the-art mobile laboratory and celebrated the official launch of Mercer County Community College's Aseptic Biomanufacturing program!

We are beyond excited to offer students access to the latest and greatest in workforce training in biotechnology and biomanufacturing, and we are fortunate that Johnson & Johnson and NJBioFutures have chosen to support our college and the MCCC Foundation in launching this important endeavor.

Last weekend, we kicked off Mercer County Community College's 60th anniversary year with three wonderful events honoring parts of our college's past, present, and future!

Our 60th anniversary weekend began with a celebration of Mercer athletics history, as we welcomed our athletes back to campus for MCCC's Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. In all, 8 individuals and 2 National Championship teams were enshrined into our college's Athletics Hall of Fame during an uplifting and celebratory ceremony.

Our college's first ever Mercerpalooza celebration, held on Sunday, welcomed members of the local community to our West Windsor Campus to learn about all things Mercer! We hosted games & activities in the quad, served a barbecue lunch for attendees, and we even had a real live Mustang named Denali on campus!

The weekend closed with MCCC's 34th annual Golf Classic for Scholarships at Trenton Country Club, a fun event that is dedicated to raising scholarship funds for Mercer student-athletes. As was the case the previous two days, we were fortunate to have a full day of beautiful weather.

We are so excited to continue celebrating MCCC's 60th anniversary over the next year, so be sure to keep an eye out for future events! Thank you to all of our sponsors and donors for everything that you do to support our students. Additionally, thank you to all of our faculty and staff who assisted and volunteered your time to make this weekend such a rousing success!

This past Tuesday, I had the opportunity to attend the launch event introducing the exciting NJBioFutures program! Through this brand new program, we will work to prepare students for bright futures in cell and gene therapeutics, which will not only provide rewarding careers, but the potential for life-saving breakthroughs.

Mercer County Community College is proud to have the opportunity to partner with NJ's Community Colleges, Johnson & Johnson, Raritan Valley Community College, and Middlesex College in this exciting endeavor.

Stay tuned for more information about the NJBioFutures program by visiting www.njbiofutures.org!

Congratulations to all Mercer County Community College faculty and staff who contributed in making our annual day of giving, Mercer Tuesday, a huge success! Mercer Tuesday raises money for the Mercer Fund, which provides financial support to students when they are experiencing a financial barrier or obstacle, and have exhausted all other resources.

After a successful Mercer Tuesday on November 12th, we’re pleased to announce the campaign has raised over $30,000 so far thanks to 92 generous donors, including a matching gift from the MCCC Foundation Board of Directors and the MCCC Executive Leadership Team!

Thank you to all who have donated to help raise funds for our most vulnerable students. mccc.edu/mercertuesday

It was a great pleasure to attend last week's Culinary Tasting Event in support of our outstanding hospitality program at Mercer County Community College! Tickets for our culinary lunches and dinners at MCCC sell out faster than Taylor Swift concerts and that's for good reason -- our students are so incredibly talented and dedicated to their craft, and they have our excellent faculty members to mentor them.

Kudos to our Culinary program and thank you to all of the fabulous Mercer County restaurants who joined us for a great evening!

I am excited to share that Mercer County Community College has recently earned the designation of Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) from the U.S. Department of Education! This is a significant milestone toward reducing barriers to higher education, and creating an inclusive environment with equitable outcomes for all students at MCCC.

This designation will provide us with many opportunities to enhance academic programs, facilities, and services that expand educational opportunities for Hispanic and Latino students.

Find out more about MCCC's Hispanic-Serving Institution designation here: https://www.mccc.edu/pr/General/2024/Hispanic-Serving.html
