One thing about Social Action, it moves on multiple levels, and here in Westchester, we understand the assignment! 🔺

From grassroots engagement to conversations with state leadership, ensuring that the voices of the communities we serve are represented in spaces where decisions are made is essential to our work.

We recognize our very own Soror Tai Johnson, whose leadership and engagement with the Westchester Black Political Caucus helped create space for those voices to be heard during Governor Kathy Hochul’s visit.

At Westchester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., we know that Social Action is more than a committee. It is a commitment to advocacy, civic engagement, and meaningful representation at every level.

This is what it means to put Social Action into action!

Social Action in Full Effect Across Westchester!

Westchester Alumnae Chapter was on the move today, advancing voter education, engagement, and mobilization across our communities!

In Peekskill, we proudly partnered with the Westchester Black Women’s Political Caucus, Greater Peekskill Area Chapter (WBWPC-GPA), for a Candidates’ Forum attended by approximately 200 community members. Our Chapter President, Soror Tiffany S.W. Hamilton, served as moderator as candidates shared their priorities and perspectives. Special appreciation to our Sorors serving within WBWPC-GPA for their leadership and partnership!

Our civic engagement continued through voter registration and mobilization efforts alongside the Westchester National Pan-Hellenic Council. Meanwhile, in New Rochelle, Sorors joined community partners, including the NAACP, to encourage residents to make their voices heard!

The day also included fellowship at a local Black-owned business, and with early voting officially underway, several Sorors made their way to the polls!

Different locations. Shared purpose. Collective impact.

Educate. Engage. Mobilize. Vote.

We Walked with Purpose. Now, Let’s Finish Strong!

The Westchester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was proud to step out in support of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk!

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Sorors, family, friends, and community supporters who walked alongside us, made donations, and helped raise awareness. Every step represented our commitment to honoring survivors, remembering those we have lost, supporting those currently fighting, and standing with the families and caregivers who walk this journey with them.

The walk may be over, but our opportunity to make an impact continues!

In recognition of our founding year, we set a fundraising goal of $1,913. Thanks to your generosity, we have raised $1,193, and we are just $873 away from our goal!

Here’s the challenge: If just 39 supporters contribute $22.40 each, we can cross the finish line together!

Your gift, regardless of size, helps support the critical work of the American Cancer Society.

Help us finish what we started!

Donate today: https://secure.acsevents.org/site/STR?fr_id=112450&pg=team&team_id=2852356

Together, we walk with purpose, give with intention, and continue the fight against breast cancer.

The Westchester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated mourns the passing of Reverend Lamont S. Granby, beloved pastor of First Baptist Church of Bronxville and husband of our dear Soror Felita Granby.

Through years of chapter meetings, events, service projects, and worship, Pastor Granby always made us feel at home. His warmth and kindness gave us more than a place to gather; they gave us a sense of family.

We hold Soror Felita, the Granby family, and the First Baptist congregation close in love and prayer. May God's abiding presence sustain you, and may the memories of his love and goodness bring comfort in the days ahead.

We will remember him with grateful hearts.
