The Brothers of the Gamma Upsilon was out in Maize, Kansas this morning volunteering as Kansas hosted its State Special Olympics Games. Our chapter showed up standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with athletes, families, and supporters from across the sunflower state.

From cheering on athletes to assisting with events, our Brotherhood demonstrated what it truly means to uplift humanity. We are honored to play a small part in a day filled with courage, joy, and unforgettable achievements.

On Thursday, the Brothers of Gamma Upsilon Graduate Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. attended the 72nd Annual Equal Opportunity Gala, hosted by the Urban League of Kansas—a longstanding pillar of civil rights advocacy and community empowerment in Wichita.

The Urban League continues its mission of advancing economic self‑reliance, educational opportunity, housing stability, health equity, and workforce development for underserved communities across Kansas.

We are proud to celebrate two of our own who were honored with distinguished awards for their leadership, service, and impact:

Due to Gamma Upsilon’s continued support and partnership with the Union Rescue Mission, David and his staff graciously invited the Brothers to tour several of the newly completed features added during their recent renovation.

One of Gamma Upsilon’s most impactful contributions to URM is our Annual Sock Drive, hosted each year during Founder’s Week. This initiative provides warmth and comfort to men and families during the cold holiday season, along with a generous donation that directly supports the Mission’s work.

URM remains one of the only shelters in Wichita, Kansas, offering critical services for men.

We have been blessed by the Wichita Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated fraternity for many years. The men of Omega Psi Phi provide financial support and thousands of pairs of socks each Christmas season to support the precious men we serve at the Mission! You know how sometimes God brings very special relationships in your life, just when you need them? Well, God is moving through this group of Saints every time they visit!

Thank you for your visit on Valentines Day! May God continue to bless the men (and their families) of this wonderful, Christ focused, service fraternity. God is so good!

A little about Omega Psi Phi: They are the first international fraternal organization founded on the campus of a historically black college. On the evening of November 17, 1911, Omega Psi Phi was founded inside the Science Building (later renamed Thirkield Hall) at Howard University located in Washington, D.C.
