We’ve officially kicked off the Script Your Future Medication Adherence Challenge and we’re helping our community Stick to the Script 💊📜 — because taking medications correctly is a leading role in staying healthy and preventing complications! 🌟

Over the next few months, we’ll be educating, engaging, and empowering patients to understand their medicines, take them safely, and build habits that support healthier futures ❤️🙌

🎥 Lights, camera, adherence! This upcoming year’s Wilkes Script Your Future theme is “Stick to the Script” because when it comes to your meds, every dose is a key scene in your health story! 💊⭐️🍿🎞️

⭐️Colonels in the community!⭐️

Yesterday, some of our pharmacy students traveled to the nearby Temple Apartments Senior Center to present on Chronic Kidney Disease! March is National Kidney Month, so this was the perfect event to end the month!👩‍⚕️

The seniors there were very pleasant and asked our students lots of questions! We also had the opportunity to play a kidney themed bingo with prizes!🏆

Finally, students were able to take their blood pressures, which tied in perfectly with the event! Did you know? High blood pressure can increase your risk of CKD!💊

‼️DID YOU KNOW? 4 million deaths every year are prevented by childhood vaccines‼️

Disease transmission can be reduced greatly through vaccination, and creates a phenomenon called herd immunity 😱

What is Herd Immunity?
Herd immunity occurs when a large percentage of the population becomes immune to a disease through vaccination. The spread of disease from person-to-person is highly unlikely, and as a result the whole population is protected from disease, including unvaccinated individuals 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Ask your pharmacist about any vaccines you may be eligible for, and keep up to date on all the vaccine schedules on the CDC Website! 💉

⭐️Medication Adherence Awareness and Seasonal Depression Presentation⭐️

Earlier this morning, students put together a presentation on Seasonal Depression, and played Bingo with the residents! The interactive activity was a huge success and everyone involved had a lot of fun! 🤗

We helped patients fill out medication adherence cards, and answered any questions that they had! They also had the opportunity to have their blood pressure taken 🫀💊

A big thank you to one of our S*F Faculty Advisors Dr. Danielle Kieck for precepting this event! 👏

⭐️Fast Fact: 66% of the U.S population takes at least 1 prescription medication⭐️

Medication adherence is a barrier that many patients face at pharmacies all across the country😱. Our role as pharmacists is to make sure that patients are adhering to their medication regimens and answering any questions that they might have😎

Have trouble remembering when to take your medications?
* Try a medicine box or timer on your cellphone! ⏳
* Take your medications at the same time every day ⏰
* Refill your scripts early so you don’t run out of medication💊
