Over the past two weeks in Dr. Sinclair’s Interventions to Support Occupation class, we had the privilege of welcoming two outstanding guest lecturers. Dr. Carlie Powell from Cohort 2 shared her expertise on shoulder anatomy and interventions, while Dr. Dawson Wright from Cohort 3 provided an insightful lecture on common hand and elbow injuries, along with current treatment approaches.

We greatly appreciated their time, knowledge, and willingness to share their clinical expertise with our students. Their engaging presentations provided valuable learning experiences and enriched our understanding of these important areas of practice.

Wingate OTD students visited the North Carolina Assistive Technology Program in Charlotte yesterday as part of Dr. Hauser's OTD 733 Technology course. Students had the opportunity to learn about the program, explore various pieces of assistive technology, and spend some time with the SLP to learn about Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. Last week in Dr. Sinclair's Interventions to Support Occupations class, for the third consecutive year, we had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Polk, Wingate University DPT, as a guest lecturer for our OTD students on the topic of dry needling. Our students were actively engaged throughout the session and benefited from valuable insights, engaging discussion, and hands-on learning opportunities. They also gained practical experience learning how to perform dry needling techniques on several muscle groups.
