Wingate OTD students visited the North Carolina Assistive Technology Program in Charlotte yesterday as part of Dr. Hauser's OTD 733 Technology course. Students had the opportunity to learn about the program, explore various pieces of assistive technology, and spend some time with the SLP to learn about Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. What a fabulous resource!

Cohort 7 absolutely crushed splint lab last week — bringing the heat, the creativity, and the clinical skills all at once. From thermoplastics to teamwork, this group showed that learning can be both hands-on and a lot of fun!

Last week in Dr. Sinclair's Interventions to Support Occupations class, for the third consecutive year, we had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Polk, Wingate University DPT, as a guest lecturer for our OTD students on the topic of dry needling. Our students were actively engaged throughout the session and benefited from valuable insights, engaging discussion, and hands-on learning opportunities. They also gained practical experience learning how to perform dry needling techniques on several muscle groups.
