All Central Mass. alumni, parents and friends are invited to join our local observance of
Holy Cross Cares '21. Though we can't gather "in person" as we have in the past, together we can still make a meaningful impact on our community.

From now through April 11 (coinciding with Lent and Easter Week), the Holy Cross Club of Greater Worcester is organizing a "Virtual Goods Drive" to support Abby's House, a Worcester nonprofit dedicated to providing shelter and affordable housing, as well as advocacy and support services, to homeless, battered, and low-income women, with or without children. Abby's House has had a longstanding relationship with Holy Cross, especially the Chaplains' Office and SPUD. The organization can certainly use our help, especially during this pandemic.

There are three (3) ways you can participate in this effort:

1) ONLINE CONTACTLESS DELIVERY (preferred):
purchase in-kind item(s) from the Resident and Guest Needs List (i.e. kitchen supplies, gift cards, etc.), and ship directly to Abby's House (52 High Street, Worcester, MA 01609)

2) AMAZON WISHLIST (preferred):
if you have an Amazon account, donate cleaning supplies and household items through the Abby's House Amazon WishList; items will be shipped directly to Abby's House

3) IN-PERSON DROP-OFF:
purchase in-kind item(s) from the Resident and Guest Needs List and schedule a drop-off date/time at Abby's House with Jean Anger ([email protected])

We're excited to share the news that Vincent D. Rougeau has been named 33rd president of the College of the Holy Cross.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Holy Cross community as its new president,” he says. “Our current moment in history cries out for the mission-driven education that Holy Cross provides, and I am very excited about what this community can accomplish in the years ahead.”

Rougeau currently serves as Dean of the Boston College Law School and inaugural director of the new Boston College Forum on Racial Justice in America. He has written and spoken extensively on law and religions, with a particular focus on Catholic social teaching and the law, and on legal education reform.

“At Holy Cross, I was proud to help start the Brother to Brother committee, which helped amplify the voices of people of color on campus, and it was kind of poetic to work on a project that did the same for Black people in Worcester.”

Che Anderson ‘11, co-founder of the Worcester POW! WOW! mural festival, helped organize an effort by Worcester-area artists to paint this huge Black Lives Matter mural outside the DCU Center downtown. The project was funded by and carried out under the leadership of the local community, including co-organizer Em Quiles, and supported by Mayor Joe Petty, City Manager Ed Augustus, and City Councilor Sean Rose.
