As we celebrate Labor Day, join us in congratulating David Reed jr. as one of 4 recipients of the 2025 Detroit Jazz Festival "Jazz Goes to College Scholarship," presented by I.A.T.S.E. Local 38 Now in its sixth year, scholarships have been awarded to 21 Michigan undergrads studying music- and theatre-technology. The program is funded through the IATSE Local 38 Community Service Fund, a registered 501(c) (3) corporation. The Scholarship awards were presented live on the Carhartt Stage in downtown Detroit as part of the Detroit Jazz Festival. David is the 5th ED&T student to have received this honor. Welcome Kristin! Our students are so excited to work with you this fall

2 weeks and counting until the first day of Fall 2025! When classes begin, students in Eastern Michigan University Arts Management & Administration Programs, Entertainment Design & Technology at Eastern Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University Theatre and more will get to know our new Visiting Professor of Design, Kristin Ellert. Kristin is a scenic and projections designer also skilled in drawing, painting, digital media and the general making of things. Kristin has been working and designing in professional and educational theatre for over 20 years and has a passion for visual storytelling. Kristin is one of our two Visiting Professors of Design who will be teaching in the classroom and backstage in the Scenic Laboratory, designing for our Mainstage Theatre shows, and mentoring student designers. We can't wait to get this season started and share their great work with the EMU Community!

So very excited to have Travis joining us in the Fall!

Welcome to the CMTA family Travis Fox! Travis joins us TODAY, relocating to Michigan from Oregon. Travis has more than 25 years in the entertainment industry, most recently working with Laika Studios as a puppet fabrication supervisor. He holds an MFA in puppetry from the University of Connecticut and is excited to be transitioning from the industry into the classroom. Travis will be teaching courses and mentoring students in our Entertainment Design & Technology program as well as designing for Eastern Michigan University Theatre. It's going to be an exciting year with lots of new faces around .
