🎉🎂Happy 99th Birthday to our beloved Bro. Bob Willis!

A remarkable milestone! Brother Willis was initiated into our Beta Mu Chapter back in 1949 at Kentucky State University and has served as an exceptional example for all Beta Mu brothers who have followed.

With over 75 years of dedicated service, Brother Willis's contributions to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., are truly significant. He has served as a two-time President of the Eta Lambda chapter in Atlanta, the Georgia District Director, and the Southern Region Vice-President. Furthermore, he has been appointed as a senior advisor to five General Presidents (the 31st, 32nd, 34th, 35th, and 36th) and is a two-time recipient of the Award of Merit, the fraternity's highest honor.

Brother Willis has witnessed and influenced generations of Alpha excellence and history. His guidance has significantly impacted General Presidents and helped shape the direction of our fraternity. We, as chapter brothers, are incredibly grateful for everything he has done, not only for the fraternity at large but especially for the foundation he helped build for Beta Mu. His willingness to continue to engage with younger Beta Mu brothers in recent years has been deeply appreciated.

Cheers to 99 years, Bro. Willis! We are truly fortunate to have you among us.

Big Brother Stoney 👏🏾💪🏾🤙🏾

Brother Michael Hudson is a Fall ‘89 initiate of the Beta Mu Chapter at Kentucky State University, where he served as Chapter President from 1991 to 1992. He is currently a member of the Eta Lambda Chapter in Atlanta, Georgia. Brother Hudson is a Life Member and the CEO of Green Diamond Waste Management in Atlanta. Over the past seven years, Brother Hudson has been the Chairman of the Brown Middle School community service programs. Through these programs, mentees have the opportunity to create vision boards, learn about entrepreneurship and financial literacy, participate in college tours, and more. Keep up the outstanding work, Brother Michael Hudson!

Y'all asked for it, so we are back to give you Round 2!

We have an upcoming lineup of events over the next 10 days centered around Juneteenth and bettering our community from within.

Join us tomorrow, Sunday, June 14th at 10am EST as we kick things off with Sunday Worship Service led by Bro. Nerrick L. Jackson on Facebook Live.

The events continue Thursday, June 18th with our Financial Literacy Zoom meeting where a panel of Financial professionals (including Bro. Jonathan Harris, Bro. Rodney IDream Hardin, and others) will discuss various topics including investing, retirement planning, and effectively managing budgets- to name a few.

We will close this week out for a celebration on Friday June 19th (the actual day of Juneteenth) starting at 9:06pm EST by taking it to Club Thoro for a Zoom Party hosted by Shannon Bush-Smith, including a fireworks display around 10pm(ish) to celebrate the historical day.

And our events will conclude the following Tuesday with a Zoom Panel to discuss the "Next Steps" that we can take towards change now that we are more galvanized as a country than we have ever been. The panel consisting of many K-State Alum will include Judge Lasheyl Stroud, Black Lives Matter Indy leader -Jessica Louise, Indiana State Senator - Eddie Melton, School Superintendent - Bro.

We are excited that so many people reached out asking for a follow up to Alumni Alpha Week and are honored to commemorate Juneteenth with this lineup of events focused on empowering our community from within.

We will also be raising funds all week, with 100% of them going towards Black Lives Matter Louisville to help them continue their causes and demanding !
