It is with a very heavy heart I have to share the news of Kimberly Storms Michels loosing her hard fought battle with cancer on July 26th.
Everyone that knew Kim is heart broken. She will be missed by all. We are sending our prayers and condolences to all of her family and friends, Especially Jim, Jenna, Jackson and their very close friend Andrea.
Jim has planned a celebration of life see below.
We will have a celebration of Kimberly Storms Michels life on the evening of Saturday, August 23rd in the Sierra Center at the Hyatt Place in Wesley Chapel (north side of FL-56, across from the Outlet Mall) from 7 – 11 PM. Hyatt Place Wesley Chapel 26000 Sierra Center Boulevard, Lutz, FL 33559
While we are sad that we will no longer have the pleasure of her company, we can celebrate the life that she led and that she has moved on to a better existence that she called Heaven. Munchies, cake and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. There will be a cash bar for those so inclined. Don’t be shy, we have a minimum! She would hope that this will be a joyous event and not glum or terribly serious.
We plan to run a slide show and will figure out how people can upload photos to the slide show. We’ll have a Jukebox app that people may access, and we’ll play "Kim Kuts" all evening! We will also set up a TV, with the NASCAR race from Daytona, in one corner for those interested in Speed! (She was becoming a Chastain fan with the retirement of Truex Jr!)
At some point in the evening, we’ll take some time for me to talk about her and cry, then other people will have a chance to tell entertaining pieces of Kim’s story.
Come out and join us if you can and meet a bunch of special people. Kim didn’t hang out with people that were dull or not cool! She would love to hear about her friends making new connections with each other. If you knew her, you KNOW that is a fact!
For those in or near Louisville, we are planning to have a Mass and a celebration up there, too. Probably in September or October. Trying to figure out if we can arrange a Tailgating Celebration before a UofL home game. Will keep all informed here.
