The first-year M.A./M.Sc. Applied Psychology, second-year Child Psychology, along with the first-year M.Sc. Psychosocial Rehabilitation students at Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS), along with Dr. Vasundharaa Santhosh Nair. and Dr Dahunllyne Shylla undertook a field visit to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital(PGIMER) in New Delhi as part of their experiential learning in clinical and community mental health.

The objective of the visit was to provide students with first-hand exposure to the functioning of a multidisciplinary mental health department within a hospital setting and to understand how psychological services are delivered in real-world clinical environments. The visit also aimed to familiarise students with the roles and responsibilities of professionals such as psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and psychosocial work practitioners, who collaborate to provide patient care and rehabilitation.

Through this experience, the students were introduced to the structure and organisation of the department as well as the training opportunities at the hospital. The students also discussed cases with the Psychosocial trainees and were walked through the plan they had towards their rehabilitation. The interaction provided insight into the various therapeutic, rehabilitative and community-based services offered to individuals experiencing psychological and psychiatric concerns.

The field visit served as an important opportunity for students to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application, while also deepening their understanding of ethical practice, patient-centred care and interdisciplinary collaboration within mental health services.

We are delighted to present the latest edition of this year's issue of 'Psych Digest: The World Through Your Lens', a quarterly e-magazine led by postgraduate students at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences (JIBS). The initiative continues to make psychology relevant, relatable, and accessible by connecting theory with everyday experience.

The theme for this edition is 'Psych Cut: The Psychology of Entertainment'. This issue invites readers to look beyond plot twists and punchlines to examine how entertainment shapes our emotions, identities, and relationships. From the comfort of familiar shows to the narratives that influence our worldview, and from parasocial bonds to the allure of darker themes, this edition explores how media becomes deeply intertwined with our inner world.

Bringing together diverse voices, this issue blends academic insight with lived experience. Each contribution reflects thoughtful inquiry into how entertainment affects attention, belonging, perspective, and meaning in an increasingly entertainment-saturated world.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our contributors, whose creativity and critical thinking have enriched this edition and strengthened Psych Digest as a platform for dialogue and reflection.

We invite you to immerse yourself in these pages and consider how the stories you consume may also be shaping you.

Wishing you a reflective and engaging reading experience.
