The Dean FHSS, Prof. Kyalo Wa Ngula, joined the DVC (ARSA) Prof. Gilbert Nduru, in welcoming officials from the Media Council of Kenya led by the Regional Coordinator Mr. Jackson Karanja, for a Media Career Talk on Reimagining Journalism in the Digital Era.

Accompanied by Prof. Dickson Nkonge, COD Humanities, Dr. Henry Nabea- In-Charge Media, and media section lecturers, the Dean urged students to embrace digital media as the future of journalism, emphasizing innovation, adaptability, and multimedia skills. The event also allow for the Accreditation & Issuance of Press Cards to Media students. Prof. Kyalo Wa Ngula Takes Over as Dean, FHSS

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences held a ceremony to mark the handover of leadership from Prof. Christopher Kiboro to Prof. Kyalo Wa Ngula.

In his remarks, Prof. Kiboro expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and reflected on the milestones achieved during his tenure, while expressing confidence in his successor’s leadership.

Prof. Kyalo thanked Prof. Kiboro for his dedicated service and pledged to build on his legacy by fostering innovation, academic excellence, and inclusivity. Faculty members attended the event, expressing optimism about the faculty’s continued growth under the new dean.

The Dean of FHSS, Prof. Christopher Kiboro, today led faculty members in an Orientation exercise where 1st years met their lecturers. In his speech, he welcomed the new students and urged them to start strong and finish with resilience and pride. He was joined by the Prof. Dickson Nkonge, COD Humanities and Dr. Monicah Oundo of Social Sciences, alongside other faculty members, in warmly ushering the students into their new academic journey.

The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences warmly welcomes over 1,800 first-year students to our vibrant community, as Chuka University registers more than 7,000 new members in the September 2025 Intake.
