🚚 Food Truck Wednesday: Season Finale! ☀️
The season finale is here! Join us this week for the last Food Truck Wednesday of the spring/summer lineup. Don’t worry, we aren't saying goodbye forever—we will be taking a brief summer hiatus and will pick right back up in late August for the fall season!

Come grab some amazing lunch, support our food truck vendors, and enjoy the sunshine (hopefully) before our break.

✨ Celebrating the dedication, excellence and impact of our OU Health Campus staff! 💙

The 2026 Employee Recognition Ceremony & Luncheon was a wonderful opportunity to come together and honor the incredible employees who make our campus community stronger every day.

Hosted at the beautiful Embassy Suites by Hilton Oklahoma City Downtown Medical Center, the event featured a fantastic lunch, a beautifully designed space, and a memorable celebration organized by the Staff Senate Employee Recognition Committee.

👏 The ceremony recognized staff reaching service milestones from 10–45 years, including photos with the Provost and a keepsake award to celebrate their years of dedication and commitment.

We also celebrated outstanding staff achievements through the presentation of:
🏆 Tanya L. Mustin Staff Excellence Award — Amy Williams
🏆 Marcia Bennett OUHC Leadership and Mentoring Award — Amy Williams
🏆 Employee of the Year Award — Angela Kulhanek
🏆 Staff Senate Appreciation Award — Melissa Nestor
🏆 Regents’ Award for Superior Staff — Stephen Neely

The season is winding down, but we are scaling up for our second-to-last Food Truck Wednesday! Tomorrow, we are moving the party to a different spot, so make sure you head in the right direction for lunch!

📍 NEW LOCATION: OUHC Clocktower Drive (right between the OUHC Bird Library & OUHC College of Dentistry)

🎉 Congratulations to Jennifer Richardson – OU Health Campus Staff Senate’s June 2026 Employee of the Month! 🎉

Jennifer is the Manager/Director of Admissions and Recruitment in the Office of Student Affairs and has been recognized for her outstanding dedication to students, innovative leadership, and commitment to building meaningful relationships across the OU Health Campus community.

Colleagues describe Jennifer as someone who "works tirelessly and selflessly" to create new opportunities in pharmacy recruitment, admissions, and student engagement. Her impact extends far beyond her role, as she is known for investing deeply in the success and well-being of students through encouragement, guidance, and advocacy.

As one nominator shared, "To her, this is not a job focused on numbers; instead, this is her life's work that is about investing in students and changing their lives."

Each month, the OU Health Campus Staff Senate recognizes an outstanding staff member for exceptional service and dedication. Employees of the Month receive a plaque, a $500 award, and campus-wide recognition, and are eligible for consideration as Employee of the Year.

The 2026 Employee Recognition Ceremony & Luncheon will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, as we honor employees reaching milestone years of service. 💙

📌 Important reminders:
✔️ Official ceremony invitations have been sent
✔️ RSVP deadline: Friday, May 15, 2026
✔️ Staff celebrating 10 years of service and every 5 years thereafter will be recognized during the ceremony
✔️ Employees reaching a 5-year milestone will receive a commemorative pin and official certificate via internal mail

Calling all OUHC staff, faculty, students, trainees, and our Health Campus community partners! Our food truck event is back tomorrow Wednesday, May 6th. Take a well-deserved break from the office or the clinic and enjoy some of the best local eats right here on campus.

🚚 This Week’s Featured Vendors:
The To Go Box: a variation of sandwiches and wraps made from scratch, hand cut meat, fresh veggies bought from our locals farmers 🌿
Split Top Hot Dog.: If you are looking for a savory bratwurst, spicy jalapeño smoked sausage, classic all beef hot dog will be a perfect fit. 🌭

🌟 Employee of the Month – May 2026 🌟

The OU Health Campus Staff Senate is proud to recognize Star Reed, Administrative and Finance Coordinator for the Willed Body Program at the College of Medicine, as our May Employee of the Month!

Selected from dozens of nominations across thousands of staff, this award honors individuals who go above and beyond in service and dedication—and Star exemplifies exactly that.

Described by her peers as someone who “works exceptionally well under pressure” and brings a “calm and steady presence to situations that are often emotional and difficult,” Star’s impact is both meaningful and lasting. Her colleagues also note that she “embodies the spirit of this award through her work ethic, initiative, and genuine care” for others and the mission of the OU Health Campus.

As Employee of the Month, Star will receive a plaque, a $500 award, and be honored at a departmental reception. She will also be eligible for Employee of the Year, awarded each spring.
