Hello! We hope you are all doing well!!

On behalf of the Afghan Student Association, we would like to formally invite you and your loved ones to our annual Nawrooz charity event. This event will take place on Sunday, March 27th at 6pm!

Come join us at the Ukrainian Hall to celebrate Nawrooz with all your friends and family all whist enjoying a delicious meal from Ariana Kabob House, traditional Afghan music by the talented Ramin Balouch, poems, henna and, of course, the traditional Attan dance!

Hello!
Many of you have been waiting for this day and finally it is here! We have received a first glimpse of what our work here has achieved.

On behalf of the association, we would like to THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU! Your donations helped raise over $2000 USD for Emergency Relief for Kunduz!!

A representative of our association (currently in Kunduz) spoke to the people and assessed their needs. He came to the conclusion that food supplies were the necessity of the utmost importance. And so, supplies such as rice, oil, beans, and peas were purchased.

Hello to all ASA members!

My name is Saher Ahmed and I am a Graduate Student in the Women’s and Gender Studies Department at Carleton University. As part of the completion of my Master’s degree, I am working on my graduate thesis which focuses on the experiences of second-generation Afghan women in Canada.

I would like to interview second-generation Afghan women who live in Ottawa or the surrounding area. This project is of personal significance to me as I am also a second-generation Afghan woman.
