~~~~~~~~~Message from Chief Secretary Azad Jammu & Kashmir~~~~~~~~
It gives me mammoth pleasure to send this massage to the people and government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on the very significant juncture of launching two state of the art Medical Colleges in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur. It has been a long-standing and pressing demand of the Kashmiri people to have their own medical college in the territory of AJ&K. The Grace of Almighty Allah has commissioned two medical collages with full academic activities and I profoundly congratulate the administrative and academic team of the colleges who burnt the midnight oil, in establishing medical college in record short time. The Medical College with affiliated teaching Hospitals are back bone of the health care delivery system and tertiary care centers, not only provide the quality health care for complicated human ailments but also address the pressing research issues leading to new developments in diagnostic and therapeutics. The ultimate beneficiary of this chain of efforts is the masses and humanity. I have been given the taxing task of establishment of both the medical colleges by the government, highly committed team of government officials, experts and academicians unceasingly worked to bring this aspiration in to actuality. I am also delighted to learn that a team of eminent medical teachers has decided to introduce a problem based integrated medical curriculum in AJK Medical College Muzaffarabad and this is the first public sector medical college in Pakistan instigating such teaching stratagem. This will undeniably enhance the quality of medical education and will facilitate the further accreditation by international bodies. I congratulate the parents and students and urge that students will devote their utmost verve and time in learning mastery of medical profession.
