My name is Jamie Liu, and I am a third-year student at Brigham Young University–Hawaii double majoring in Marketing and Supply Chain Management, minoring in communication and psychology.

My entrepreneurial journey began when I started my own online business selling Korean entertainment merchandise. What started as a small side project quickly grew into an international customer base across the United States, Hong Kong, mainland China, and Korea. Through social media marketing and customer engagement, I grew the business account to over 20,000 followers and built a loyal community of customers.

Running this business gave me hands-on experience in marketing strategy, cross-border sales, inventory management, and customer relationship management. Managing sales across different regions also taught me how to adapt to different markets and consumer preferences.

At BYU–Hawaii, I currently work as a Student Project Lead at the Willes Center, where I lead the planning and ex*****on of entrepreneurship competitions such as “Great Ideas” and “Empower Your Dreams.” In this role, I coordinate with students, faculty mentors, and external partners to support innovative ideas and create opportunities for student entrepreneurs to develop and present their business concepts.

In addition, I serve as the project manager for the internship program at Coco Robo, a startup preparing to expand into the Hong Kong market. Working closely with an early-stage company allows me to experience entrepreneurship from the inside—helping organize teams, support market entry preparation, and contribute to the development of a growing business. Being part of a startup environment has strengthened my interest in innovation and the process of turning new ideas into real ventures.
