Center for Limnology Faculty, staff, graduate students and post doctoral researchers are conducting world-class research right here in Wisconsin.

Limnology (lim-NOL-ə-jee) from Greek: Λίμνη limnee, "lake"; and λόγος, logos, "knowledge"), also called freshwater science, is the study of inland waters from lakes, rivers, streams, to groundwater and wetlands. Comprised of Hasler Lab on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus and the Trout Lake research station in Northern, Wisconsin, the Center for Limnology works to better understand the wo
