We hope that this communique finds you well in these tough trying times, hoping that we are all rejuvenated and ready to tackle the challenges that might come with this academic year.

DASO would like to register its outmost disappointment on how the matter of allowances had been handled by PYA-led SRC and the Alice Student Services who is currently unavailable to execute her duties that she has been entrusted to do by the Students of the Alice Campus. We as students are busy with our studies and we have not received our book allowance for the 2021 academic year which raises many questions, because the PYA-led SRC is quiet about this matter.

We as DASO demand that the Student Services of the Alice Campus handles this matter as it urgent if she is failing g. DASO Alice Campus would like to alert the students of Alice Campus that we are behind you getting your allowances.

We have also noted with deep concern that the SRC gets comfortable when some students receive data and they do not ensure that every student registered receives data so that online learning can be effective for every student in the institution. We strongly suggest that all registered students who have not received data to come to our Alice DASO office so that we can initiate a way as to how they can be assisted for a smooth all online learning for every registered student in Alice.

We as DASO would like to call again to every student that is having challenges with blackboard to visit our stall and DASO office at the basement of Student Centre so that we can assist in ensuring that all students in Alice Campus are included in all processes in these tough times.

Democratic Greetings

With the hope that this communique finds you in good health and spirits.

Daso Chairperson's of both campuses have been delegated to represent Daso in the Institutional Student Parliament Summit (Student Governance Constitution amendment summit) which is currently underway in Port Alfred.

DASO has noted with deep concern the various challenges international students encounter at this institution, it is therefore
We have decided to submit points of references with respect to the amendment of the student governance constitution. As organization we strongly advocate for a new SRC post that will be solely responsible for all International Students.

This will assist International students with all the issues they face from coming into the system and when already in the system.

Thank you to our Candidates and Activists, who have worked very hard this week in assisting students at DASO stalls in both campuses on issues that include:
