The Department of Mechanical Engineering would like to thank Martin Masitise, founder and CEO of Mohlalefi Engineering, for an inspirational lecture to our final year students. He presented the lifesaving technology he developed for underground mines and his journey as an entrepreneur now supplying mines locally and across Africa. We look forward to see continued growth at Mohlalefi as they pursue some exciting plans to expand their product offering and become a competitive participant in the global mining industry. We believe that including young inspirational engineers like Martin in our teaching will inform our students career paths to success.

Please join us in celebrating our EBE Departments' success in the most recently released QS rankings by subject for 2022! 🥳🤩🙌

While rankings are not a perfect measure of excellence, we are happy to celebrate when the departments are recognised for their hard work and commitment to research.

This is a great achievement and something we can be proud of.
