On behalf of the Student Union at Cavendish University Zambia, we wish to acknowledge the heartbreaking loss of one of our own.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Chishimba, a dedicated medical student and cherished member of our university community 🕊️.

During this time of grief, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fellow students 💔. William's life was filled with promise and purpose, and his absence has left an irreplaceable void in our hearts and halls 🩺📚.

May his soul rest in eternal peace 🌹, and may we find comfort in unity and shared strength as we navigate this difficult moment together 🤝🕯️.

Good afternoon, fellow students,

The *SOM Association* has identified a longstanding gap in the transition process of our medical students across various academic levels. The journey through Cavendish University Zambia’s rigorous medical curriculum is no small feat, and successful progression deserves both recognition and structured guidance.

In light of this, we are pleased to introduce the *first of its kind inaugural CUZ School of Medicine White Coat Ceremony*.🥼🩺

This ceremony is intended to formally acknowledge and induct students advancing into higher academic levels, particularly those progressing from MSF to 2,1, 3.1, and from 4.2 to 5.1, and those entering clinical rotations. It will serve as both a symbolic and practical orientation, equipping students with insights into the expectations, responsibilities, and standards that lie ahead in their professional development.

Warm Regards
Dumisani Ncube (The Bally)
School of Medicine President

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy that we extend our condolences to the family of His Excellency Mr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu, former President of the Republic of Zambia, and to the people of Zambia at large.

President Lungu served his country with dedication and commitment, navigating Zambia through significant national and regional challenges. His leadership and contributions to the nation’s governance, democracy, and development will remain etched in the history of Zambia.

During this time of mourning, we honour his legacy and the impact he had on countless lives. May the Lungu family find comfort in the outpouring of national and international support, and may the people of Zambia be granted peace and strength as they reflect on the life and service of their former Head of State.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.🕊️🕊️

Wishing everyone writing next week the very best as you enter your study break and prepare for exams next week! This is a crucial time to focus, revise thoroughly, and take care of yourself mentally and physically. Use the break wisely, rest when needed, but also stay disciplined with your study goals. Remember, exams are just a measure of what you've learned, not your worth or potential. Stay confident, believe in the effort you've put in, and trust the process. You’ve come a long way, now is your time to shine. All the best!

warm regards,
