Aiming to exchange fruitful experiences regarding how to prevent cheating and plagiarism, Al Ghurair University organized a lecture on face-to-face and online assessment. Presented by Dr. Christine Coombe, an Associate Professor of General Studies at Dubai Men's College, the presentation shed light on different forms of academic misconduct. Furthermore, the presentation discussed a variety of measures and procedures to minimize cheating and plagiarism behaviors, such as mitigating against cheating by enforcing an honor code, using a secure browser, and using test leak prevention technology. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Christine Coombe is the founder and co-chair of TESOL Arabia Testing SIG. She has published over fifty books and has won many awards in recognition of her significant contributions to research such as the British Council’s International Assessment Award for 2013. Her most recent honor was being named to the US Department of State’s 30@30 English language specialists in 2021.

Career Planning and Placement Services at AGU held the Career Fair 2022 offering employment opportunities and internships for AGU students and alumni. Multiple organizations represented the various academic disciplines offered at AGU. Students and alumni had the opportunity to connect with esteemed employers, discuss career options, and participate in formal interviews.

AGU hosted the Students' Open Forum, and the opening words were delivered by the President, Prof. Mojtaba Moatamedi. He was followed by presentations from Dr. Muhammad Abaidulah Anwar, Vice-President of Academic Affairs, and Mr. Saqr Al Qasemi, Director of Administration concerning academic updates, campus improvements, and other student services information. During the open forum, students and management engaged in a fruitful discussion, and this was an opportunity for students to ask questions about the upcoming semester and receive answers about a wide range of student-related questions.

The students of College of Business and Communication at AGU had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a one-day training program on "Becoming a Presentation Maestro" at Al Ghurair Investments. The program was mentored by Mr. Lyndon Seno (Group Learning and Development Consultant at Al Ghurair Investment), and participants were taught the basics of presenting by introducing basic knowledge, and by engaging in practices that helped build confidence. A special thanks goes to Mr.Lyndon and Dr.Premila for organizing the event.

Students of Architecture and Interior Design programs along with Dr. John Smith (Dean of the College of Architecture and Design) and Dr. Mai El Basel (Assistant Professor of College of Architecture and Design), visited Saint-Gobain Construction and Sustainable Building Solutions site at Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. Ms. Myriam Hakim walked the students through the details of construction and sustainable solutions. A special thanks to Dr. Mai El Basel, Mr. Anoop Sreekumar (Country Manager at Saint-Gobain), and Ms. Myriam Hakim (Specification Manager at Saint-Gobain) for organizing such an information-packed site visit for our students.

Student Services Office at Al Ghurair University organized a two-day workshop on the Financial Education Program offered by Dubai Islamic Bank in partnership with KFI Global, which aimed to enhance students' financial education and planning. Ms.Marilyn L. Pinto, Founder of KFI Global, was the keynote speaker on both days of the workshop.

In keeping with the mission to spread financial literacy throughout the nation's youth, the workshop provides financial education to students for the purpose of youth empowerment and development. These important topics were covered during the workshop, including: Money Mindset, Money Management Styles, Credit and Debit Cards, Budgeting, and Common Money Mistakes. Participants appreciated the information presented and were pleased with the workshop.

The College of Architecture and Interior Design at Al Ghurair University hosted the Saint Gobain Guest Lecture "Inventing tomorrow's building solutions" for its students in Architecture and Interior Design programs. Speakers from Saint Gobain conducted separate sessions for students, and it was a memorable experience to hear from professionals with such vast experience and representing a company that has done 62 pavilions for Expo 2020.

Students attended guest lectures by:Ms.Rita Hawly (Specification Manager at Saint-Gobain) on the topic : Multi level indoor comfort & safety, Mr. Baris Turgay (Export Manager for Middle East, Near East, Southeast Europe & Eurasia) on the topic : Introduction to Drainage systems , Mr.Dorian Bomble : (Head of Specification at Saint-Gobain ) and Ms.Myriam Hakim(Specification Manager at Saint-Gobain)on the topic : Introduction to lightweight Façade. We are thankful to Mr. Anoop Sreekumar, Country Manager at Saint Gobain for providing this opportunity to our students.
