🎨📱 : Marketing by day, hand-painted bags by night

For her practical semester, Beatris Georgieva chose Bulgaria, her home country, completing a six-month internship in the Marketing Department at A1 Bulgaria. Working in the Products and Services team, she ran competitor and market analyses, prepared communication materials for new tariffs and supported website updates.

"This was my first real experience in a corporate environment, and it showed me that marketing is a combination of creativity, teamwork, planning and, of course, quite a few Excel files and meetings," Beatris says. A supportive team made even the busiest days enjoyable.

Alongside her studies, Beatris built her own creative project, "with love, BK.", designing and hand-painting canvas and beach bags. It let her combine business studies with something she genuinely loves, while learning about customer communication, social media and product development.

🎓🧡 : It's never too late to start again.

To mark World Physiotherapy Day, we'd like to introduce one of our proud Physiotherapy alumni, whose journey shows that finding your path sometimes takes time.

Before enrolling in the bachelor degree programme Physiotherapie at IMC Krems, David explored a wide range of professions. From sales and marketing to archaeology, hospitality and entrepreneurship, our alumnus realised he wanted something different: a career focused on helping people.

At the age of 37, encouraged by his wife, he made the decision to start over and study Physiotherapy. Returning to student life after many years in the workforce was not always easy, but practical placements quickly confirmed that he had found the right profession. Today, he works in neurological rehabilitation and as a self-employed physiotherapist, helping patients rebuild confidence, regain independence and achieve meaningful progress in their recovery.

"As physiotherapists, we often support people through some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Beyond physical rehabilitation, we can offer knowledge, guidance, compassion and hope. That's what makes this profession so special to me."

His advice for anyone considering studying Physiotherapie at IMC Krems?
"If it's truly something you want to do, just go for it. Even if it takes three attempts, it's worth it."

🎓 Students at one time, alumni forever.

🧡 One of our favourite time of year is almost here: saying hello to hundreds of you.

Soon our campus fills up again with students from all over the world, new and returning. The nervous smiles, the happy reunions and that first-week feeling that something wonderful is starting.

🤖🎓 : Two days, 380 colleagues and one shared start into the study year.

On 2 and 3 September we brought our whole team together for the IMC Days. Day one, the IMC Conference, focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping teaching, learning, research and work. A keynote by Doris Weßels made one thing clear: successful AI use depends less on infrastructure and more on new skills, clear guidelines and the willingness to try new ways of working. We also honoured our colleagues at the IMC Awards for their engagement, innovation and lasting contribution.

Day two, our MehrWERT Tag, offered 21 workshops on everything from IT security and active bystander training to health at work and visualisation in teaching. Guided by our yearly motto "Sicher Studieren. Sicher Arbeiten.", we want to anchor safety and belonging even more firmly in our everyday campus life.

Now we are ready. Next week more than 3,800 students from 70 nations return to our campus, and we cannot wait to welcome them into the new study year.

🧡 IMC. It's all in me.

🌅🍇 : Ten small ways to feel at home in Krems and Austria

Starting somewhere new can feel like a lot at once, so here are ten small things that help you settle into Krems, and into Austria, in your first weeks with us.

1️⃣ Spend an afternoon wandering through Krems and Stein with no plan at all.
2️⃣ Watch a sunset from the vineyards a few minutes from our campus.
3️⃣ Explore the Wachau by bike.
4️⃣ Take the short train ride to Vienna for a day of museums, markets and cafés.
5️⃣ Swap the chain coffee for a fresh pastry at a local bakery and enjoy a slow Austrian morning.
6️⃣ Learn three Austrian words (Servus, Oida, Jause).
7️⃣ Say yes to the first invitation.
8️⃣ Find your favourite study spot.
9️⃣ Go for a walk along the Danube.
🔟 Get to know someone from a country you have never visited.

At IMC Krems our students come from all over the world, so some of the best friendships here begin because someone simply asked "Want to join?"

🧡 IMC. It's all in me.

🚀🏋️ : A fitness platform carried Adam into the heart of Silicon Valley.

Adam Brestovanský, a student of our Informatics bachelor degree programme, has just returned from California. At the Lower Austria-wide Demo Day of the Creative Pre-Incubator programme, his idea convinced the jury and earned him a place at the Berkeley Entrepreneurship Summer School, right in the heart of the international start-up scene.

His start-up, TRAINR, is a digital platform for fitness coaches and their clients. It supports training supervision and reduces the administrative workload for coaches. An early version is already being tested by two users. The idea fuses Adam's two biggest passions: coding, which first caught his interest at the age of twelve, and training.

"The trip to Berkeley was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to learn from international experts and take ideas to the next level," Adam says. Next, he plans to develop TRAINR into a real company and ideally make it the focus of his internship semester.

🧭📊 : A semester in the middle of Europe rewired her career plans.

Jessica came to us as an exchange student from LAB University of Applied Sciences in Finland, where she studied International Business. She chose Krems for one reason: it sat in the middle of Europe. What she found stayed with her: the white wine, the nature, the calm and a town that always felt made for people.

Arriving early made her one of the first exchange students here, and the one who brought everyone together. She loved exchanging perspectives with people from Brazil, Ukraine and beyond. The friends she made from France, the Netherlands and Poland are still part of her life today.

Krems also shifted her direction. She discovered an interest in data analytics, a way to sharpen the creative work she already loved in marketing, PR, operations and management. Her advice is simple: arrive early, say yes to things and let the people and places surprise you.

🌍 Study the international way.

🤝🎓 : 25 KSU students just graduated on our campus

Last week we celebrated the graduation of 25 students from King Saud University in Riyadh, who spent four weeks with us completing their Austrian Hospitality Training. Across 120 hours they combined theory on our campus with intensive practical training delivered by WIFI Niederösterreich in St Pölten, covering Austrian and international hospitality standards as well as the Saudi tourism market.

The training is the final practical component of the joint two-year Hotel Management Diploma. Before receiving their certificates, the graduates presented their own case studies on the Saudi tourism market. A five-month internship in Saudi Arabia comes next, followed by the workforce or further tourism studies at King Saud University.

"Celebrating the successful completion of this training programme on our campus is a powerful demonstration of our strong links with industry and our commitment to practice-oriented education," says Ulrike Prommer, CEO of IMC Krems. "By directly connecting these international students with leading Austrian companies, we create significant added value."
