On 12 June 2026, Sigmund Freud University hosted its first cross-faculty Research Day, dedicated to “Longevity and Healthy Aging: Interdisciplinary Perspectives.”

Researchers from all four faculties contributed insights into key questions around healthy aging, including dementia care, nutrition and longevity, the microbiome and brain health, psychosocial aspects of aging, and legal questions concerning autonomy and healthy aging.

The Research Day was organised and hosted by Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Marion Garaus, PhD, Vice Rector for Research, with support from the Vice Deans for Research of all four faculties: Ass.-Prof. Dr. Nora Ruck, PhD, Ass.-Prof. Dr. Martin Kuška, PhD, Univ.-Prof.in Dr.in med. univ. Sylvia Hartl, and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Konrad Lachmayer.

The event highlighted the strong potential of interdisciplinary collaboration and created space for exchange, new ideas, and future cross-faculty research projects.
