Last Friday, Bindi Enterprises held its 2026 Bindi Digital Art Awards in Alice Springs.
Our very own Lecturer for Visual Arts and Arts Administration, Lucy Stewart took first place for her Digital Print on Cotton Paper titled "Alice to Mparntwe - Country has Layers".

🏆 WorldSkills Regional Competition – Hair & Beauty 🏆

Earlier this week, CDU Alice Springs had the pleasure of hosting the regional WorldSkills Hair and Beauty competition. It gave our CDU students the chance to compete for a spot at the WorldSkills National Championships, being held in Adelaide next June.

💇 Hairdressing: Brandy Loechte took home first place in the hairdressing section competing in three rounds: cut and colour, men's hair cut and long hair style up-do.
💄 Beauty: Keeley Hansen won first place in the beauty section, completing three rounds: facials, day makeup and night makeup.

This event wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of Industry Skills Advisory Council NT , along with our local judges and models who generously gave their time. Thank you! 🙏

Congratulations to all the competitors for their hard work and training, and good luck to our students heading to Nationals next year! 🎉

🚀 Kicking off October Business Month! 🚀

CDU attended the Youth Entrepreneurship & Small Business Expo yesterday, a fantastic start to October Business Month!

The day featured panel speakers sharing their real experiences of starting and running a business, offering plenty of inspiration and practical advice for future entrepreneurs. A great line-up of local businesses and organisations also showcased the support available to help turn an idea or hobby into a business. 💡🤝

🦎💧 A remote waterhole in the heart of the Outback is now live-streaming to the world 🦎💧

Charles Darwin University's Professor Jenny Davis (Research Institute for the Environment and Livelihoods) has partnered with NT Parks and Wildlife to set up a livestream at a waterhole in Watarrka National Park, 350km south-west of Alice Springs.

The camera captures dingoes, kangaroos, birds, dragonflies, frogs and more as they rely on this vital water source through the seasons — giving anyone, anywhere, a window into how life survives in one of the world's most unpredictable and extreme climates.
