๐ŸŒ Thatโ€™s a wrap on the Native Nations Indigenous Youth Exchange 2026!

Charles Darwin University is proud to have supported this incredible initiative, bringing together young Aboriginal and Mฤori people for a unique opportunity to connect, learn, explore and share experiences.

The exchange provided opportunities for young people to explore education, tourism and future pathways, while building connections and broadening their horizons.

It was a privilege for CDU to play a part in helping make this experience possible and to support such a meaningful opportunity for Aboriginal and Mฤori youth.

A huge thank you to Native Nations - Tracing Indigenous Footsteps and everyone involved for the enormous amount of work that went into creating such a memorable and meaningful experience for these young people.

๐ŸŒฟ CDU NAIDOC & Indigenous Literacy Day Celebrations ๐Ÿ“š

Yesterday we had a lovely day celebrating NAIDOC and Indigenous Literacy Day at CDU!
Students and staff had the wonderful opportunity to learn some Arrernte language with Auntie Veronica and Camille Dobson.

A big thank you to Auntie Veronica and Camille for sharing your time, knowledge and culture with us. It was a privilege to spend the morning learning from you both, and we are so grateful for the opportunity. ๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค

The celebrations continued with a delicious BBQ lunch, followed by a screening of the locally filmed Indigenous Literacy Day movie, Country Is Our Teacher.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a special celebration! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ“š

๐ŸŽ“ Exploring Alternative Pathways into University!

CDU spent the morning at St Philipโ€™s College chatting with Year 10 and 11 students about the different pathways into university and the wide range of study options available through Charles Darwin University across our campuses.

Gaining an ATAR doesnโ€™t have to be the only pathway to university. There are alternative options available to help you get started on your journey towards your chosen career. ๐Ÿš€

Whether you know exactly what you want to study or are still exploring your options, CDU has pathways and study opportunities to help you take that next step.

๐Ÿ”ฌโœจ What a fantastic Science Week! โœจ๐Ÿ”ฌ

It was wonderful to welcome students, schools, teachers, families and community members who came along last week to explore how science is all around us and plays an important part in our everyday lives. From water and soil testing to heat monitoring, antimicrobial resistance, the environment, clean water challenges and UV germ identification, there was plenty to discover, experiment with and get curious about! ๐Ÿงช๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ”ฌ

A very special thank you to everyone who helped make this Science Week event possible!
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our wonderful guest speakers, Mayor Asta Hill and Jimmy Cocking from Desert Knowledge Australia, for taking the time out of their busy days to come and speak with our primary school students.
Your stories, knowledge and passion helped inspire young minds and encourage our students to think about their future and the important role science plays in our community. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ”ฌ

๐ŸŒ Welcoming the 2026 Indigenous Youth Native Nations Exchange to Mparntwe/Alice Springs! ๐ŸŒ

Yesterday, CDU Associate Vice-Chancellor Jodie Summers helped welcome the 2026 Indigenous Youth Native Nations Exchange to Mparntwe/Alice Springs along side Central Arrernte Elder Benedict Stevens, marking a special beginning to their time together on Country.

The exchange is a practical pathway-building initiative connecting young First Nations people with Indigenous tourism leaders, education providers and real-world tourism experiences.

A local group of young people have already spent 10 days in Aotearoa/New Zealand and have now welcomed Mฤori rangatahi to Mparntwe. Together, they will discover, connect and build meaningful pathways for their futures through culture, Country, tourism and shared experiences.

CDU is proud to be a sponsor of this important initiative, and we canโ€™t wait to hear more about their experiences and see our young First Nations and Mฤori young people walking on Country together, sharing knowledge, culture and stories.

Follow along with their journey and see where this incredible exchange takes them! Native Nations - Tracing Indigenous Footsteps
