What a massive and memorable weekend for Acrux Shriners! 🎉🦴🎩🐨
This weekend saw two fantastic events bringing together fun, fellowship and tradition:

On Friday night, members and families stepped back into Bedrock for the very first meeting of the Hopparoo Quarry of the Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes. With a Flintstones theme, great costumes, plenty of laughs and strong attendance, it was a fun and unique side-degree experience enjoyed by all who came along. A big thank you to everyone who supported this inaugural event and helped make it such a success!

Then on Saturday evening, we proudly held the Acrux Shriners Annual Meeting & Installation of Noble Leslie Arthur Dikes as Potentate, including the election and investiture of officers for 2026 and the initiation of new novices. A formal and meaningful ceremony that marked the start of an exciting new year ahead for Acrux Shriners.

Two events. One great weekend.
Thank you to all Nobles, families and friends who attended and supported both nights — your energy and commitment are what make our fraternity so special.

🎄 Spreading Festive Cheer at Logan Hospital 🎁

The Noble’s of Acrux Shriners / Brisbane Shrine Club had the pleasure of delivering presents and catching up with the amazing staff at Logan Hospital.

All the goodies were for the kids who are currently unwell and will be spending this festive season in hospital. We hope these small gifts bring a little joy, smiles, and Christmas cheer during a challenging time.

A huge thank you to the wonderful hospital staff for the incredible work you do every day. ❤️

On Saturday the 20th o’ December, The Brisbane Tap Room gathered fer our Grand Council meetin’ and final jolly of the year 2025. The new officers were chosen and duly sworn in upon their honour (and a splash o’ rum).

There were hearty laughs aplenty, tankards o’ ale flowin’ free, and fine grub devoured by all hands. Not t’ mention the mountain o’ fines the Nobles had t’ pay fer their many misdeeds and salty transgressions.

We also spied three fresh deckhands joinin’ the tap room crew, which warmed even the saltiest hearts.

And by Neptune’s beard, the new b***y o’ merch was a grand success, much admired by all the Nobles aboard!

Yesterday Noble James Targett (Divan Asst. Rabban) had the privilege along with Noble John McCorkle (Divan Recorder) of representing our Ill Potentate, Sir Terry Webster in presenting an award of Merit to Mrs Margaret Rose.

This award was awarded to Mrs Rose for the outstanding work she has done for ACRUX Shriners, over the past 12 months.

The ACRUX Banners you see being flown at our meetings and ceremonies, and the cloth that covers the altar and has embroidery on it, have all been made by Mrs Rose for the ACRUX Divan ceremonial team.

Our Potentate of ACRUX Shriners not only acknowledged the fact that Nobles contribute their time and effort to ACRUX, but also the Lady Shriners of ACRUX.

We now have two shrine ladies within the Brisbane Shrine Club who’ve been awarded this honour.

Congratulations to both Shrine Ladies.
