Queensland Conservatorium Research Centre was established in 2003 as one of Griffith University's 30 innovative research centres. Now in its twelfth year, QCRC is truly coming into its own as vibrant hub for innovative music research with 28 established and emerging researchers who administer more than 40 complementary and often synergetic research, creative and major publication projects at any o

ne time. The centre has gained a reputation for excellence in the following areas:
- artistic research in music
- music learning and teaching
- music and technology
- music and communities
- music, health and wellbeing

Through its focus on cultural diversity and sustainability in the Asia-Pacific region, QCRC has become a flagship Centre for pioneering scholarship and creative practice in one of Griffith University’s 12 Areas of Strategic Investment: ‘Music, the Arts and the Asia-Pacific’. Furthermore, through the Centre’s involvement in ‘Pentacon’— a five-year international cross-institutional collaboration—we continue to strengthen our ties and influence in Europe and North America.
